Margie Scott
Founder and Vice President
Margie was born and raised on a farm a mile south of Williams, IA. She graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School. While attending high school she worked at Zolnosky Jewelers in Webster City, IA. After attending Iowa State University, she moved to Des Moines and was employed as an assistant manager at Joseph Jewelers. While working at Joseph’s, Margie studied diamonds and received her registered jewelers license from the Gemological Institute of America. She was married in 1987 and had two daughters, Rachel and Emily. In September of 1990, she purchased a 70 year old jewelry store named Beymer’s Jewelry in Indianola, IA. On August 16th of 1992, after 7 years of endless doctor appointments, tests and several surgeries, Margie heard those words that would change her life forever…you have multiple sclerosis (MS). In 1997, the store was closed due to her inability to work. Margie and her two girls moved to Gilbert, IA and in December 1998 she married Bill Scott. In 1999 they welcomed their daughter Taylor into the world. Margie co-founded the MARS Foundation in 1998. The MARS Foundation has given over 1.5 million dollars to medical research to find a cure for MS. It is her dream that MS will be stopped and one day cured! Chloris Eggert
Board President
Chloris grew up in the small town of Manson, in northwest Iowa. She went to college at Iowa State University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education with a math specialization and a minor in educational computing. She started her career teaching 6th grade in the Martensdale-St. Mary's School District. After marrying her husband, Chris, and moving to Ames, she made the drive to Martensdale-St. Mary’s for one year to work as their Curriculum and Technology Coordinator. To avoid the hour drive, she found a position in the Ames Community School District teaching 2nd grade and is still enjoying it after 20 years.
Chris and Chloris have two boys that occupy most of their free time. She enjoys reading, watching the Iowa State Cyclones, being outside (when it is warm), spending time with friends and family, and anything in the sun. Chloris became interested in the MARS Foundation when she met and became friends with Margie while their children were on the same trap shooting team. She is looking forward to being on the board and helping to support research for multiple sclerosis. -

Bobbi Gilbert
Chief of Communications
Bobbi began service on the MARS Foundation board the summer of 2019. Bobbi was diagnosed with MS back in 2011 shortly after her twin boys, Ayden and Bryce, turned one. Bobbi knows the struggles of raising toddlers while dealing with MS but continued to push through to provide for her family.
Bobbi currently resides on the northside of Ankeny with her husband and now 10-year-old twins boys, who are all involved in helping her find a cure for MS. She currently works full-time for Pine Ridge Farms, while taking on her MS battles daily. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, scrapbooking, and informing anyone who asks her about her MS Journey. goes here
